People and planet must be put before politics and profit

“Last week some of the biggest fossil fuel companies announced eye-watering profits running into the billions; profits which come at a huge climate cost.

“It’s past time that our political leaders showed the moral courage required to hold the biggest and richest polluters to account by forcing them to pay for the damage they’re causing. This means making common sense tax changes, including a permanent excess profits tax on fossil fuel companies, and helping to incentivise a fair switch to clean, renewable energy. People and planet must be put before politics, profit and greed, for the sake of us all – now – before it is too late.”
